Overview
The North Shore United Soccer, Inc. had its origins in the summer of 2003 in Topsfield, Massachusetts, one small town north of Boston. Inspired by his passion for kids and for the game of soccer, Stefano Franciosa decided to address the need for a club soccer organization that would focus on players’ development in this are by founding North Shore United. Over the years, Stefano and his team of dedicated coaches have created a premier club, with a solid foundation for further development and growth. In only a few years, the players' skills improved dramatically and the teams’ competitive ability increased to the point of making the club one of the largest and most successful soccer institutions in Massachusetts. In the fourth year of its existence as a boys and girls multi-team club, North Shore United Soccer Inc. is fielding 15 teams.
The Club was formed on the principle that athletic achievement, success, team membership, and genuine sportsmanship in highly competitive environments are exceedingly important for the development of soccer players.
The Club's goals are to develop players along the following four areas:
- TECHNICAL
- TACTICAL
- PHYSICAL
- MENTAL
The Club aims to ensure a direct, yet highly positive team atmosphere. The Club provides young players with the highest quality professional soccer training and seeks to ensure a highly positive atmosphere. The Club's coaching leadership avoids punitive coaching methods and negative reinforcement of any kind and shuns profane, ruthless, and degrading behaviors frequently observed among elite teams. Our goal is to help these young players fulfill their athletic destinies by providing a training experience and competitive platform that is athletically enhancing, developmentally sound, character-building, and fun.
The Club seeks to build healthy attitudes about winning and losing, relying on the following tenant: Winning is important, but by far the more important thing is give it your all and to never give up trying to do well in games and during practices. We hope that the young athletes will learn to also duplicate the same attitude in other areas of their lives.
North Shore United Soccer Inc. is registered with and sanctioned by the Massachusetts Premier League (MAPLE) and the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association (MYSA).
